Watch Kirk squirm, sweat, and have a nervous breakdown not being able to play James' riff. Am I posting this so we can make fun of Kirk? No, I remember when I first tried to learn the main riff of And Justice for All... I just couldn't get the syncopation and my guitar teacher was saying "come on, it's not that hard", and he'd play it again and I'd screw it up again.
The bottom line is it doesn't matter how good a musician you are, how many top guitarists lists you've been on, we all struggle from time to time to pick something up. And whether you love or hate Metallica, they are always ready to open themselves up and entertain. If you struggle yourself with learning guitar, I hope this is a humorous way to get some comfort.
